Victory in Tallinn

Thursday night Sporting faced the first hurdle in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League. Opponent in TAllinn: Paide Lindameeskond. Sporting won the match easily with 0-2. In the return match, Sporting has to ensure the next round.

RSC Anderlecht started the match in Tallinn with a renewed starting eleven. Kristian Arnstad and Anouar Ait El Hadj started the game, justt like Fábio Silva who was in the starting line-up for the first time. The Estonian crowd was looking forward to a nice evening of football, and both teams came to play. The first chances were for the Estonians, but Hendrik Van Crombrugge and Wesley Hoedt deflected the danger. The opening goal came after 10 minutes of football. Lior Refaelov was served by Francis Amuzu on the left flank, the Israeli tapped in. Sporting then played freely and quickly made it 0-2. Fábio Silva was sent deep and the Portuguese finished off the ball with a nice touch.

The Estonians started the second half with the same motivation as in the first half. Coach Felice Mazzù brought in quite a few new names, and the Estonian crowd were hoping for a counter-attack. However, the purple and white played out the match in a mature way, and finished the 90 minutes without too many problems.
