"We have shown our resilience already this season"

This Sunday, RSC Anderlecht will travel to the Dudenpark for the match against Union Saint-Gilloise. The first game of six crucial weekends in the Champions' play-offs.

Coach Kompany looked back on the loss in the cup final one last time. "By now, that chapter is closed, but we did not avoid the disappointment. Losing with penalties in a final, those are the worst moments. But we'll draw lessons from it. For many of the young player, this is a valuable experience anyway."

The focus this week was obviously on the Champions' play-offs and the first game against Union. The coach will not be able to select Majeed Ashimeru for that game. "It is already clear that Majeed will not be there on Sunday", he said. The coach was also asked about Marco Kana's strong performance in the cup final. "Even though we often opted for stability this season, the choices for the starting line-up are always difficult. Arnstadt also came on strongly against KV Kortrijk."

The coach is also counting on the mental resilience of the group. "We've shown that already a few times this season. We will have to be decisive at the important moments. I did not invent the play-offs system, but one thing it does ensure, is that everything is still possible."
