This is RSCA’s fourth victory in this tournament
For the thirteenth time in fourteen editions, RSC Anderlecht’s U17s took part in Ajax Amsterdam’s Future Cup over the Easter weekend. On Mauve TV, you didn’t miss a single minute of our youngsters’ matches at this prestigious tournament, in which the Mauves and Whites lifted the trophy after winning all five of their matches.
On Saturday, the Mauve and Whites won their opening group matches against Bayer Leverkusen (0-2) and Olympique Lyonnais (2-6), and on Sunday they put in a fine performance against Real Madrid (1-2). On Monday, the Sportingboys beat Future United (a team made up of the best young prospects from several Ajax partner clubs) by a convincing 4-1 scoreline.
In the final, the Anderlecht side faced Real Madrid once again, who had beaten Ajax 2-1 in the semi-final. Following a fifth and final high-quality performance, coach Jelle Coen’s lads secured a thoroughly deserved 2-0 victory. Top scorer of the tournament, striker Rami Lougmani was also named the tournament’s best player.
Congratulations, Sportingboys.
