RSCA Women to face Austria Wien in the Round of 16

The Mauves will host the Austrians first at home

On Wednesday, RSCA Women qualified for the Round of 16 of the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup, after an impressive 3-2 victory away at Braga. Two days later, the draw for the next round took place. The Mauves was drawn against Austria Wien. On 11 or 12 November, Sporting will play the first leg at home, with the return leg in Vienna a week later. RSCA Women reached the Round of 16 following wins against Aris Limassol and SC Braga. Sixteen teams were drawn on Friday afternoon - Sporting was seeded thanks to its coefficient.

Our women’s team was drawn against Austria Wien, who eliminated Slavia Prague in the previous round. Sporting will host the Austrians on 11 or 12 November. If RSCA Women advance a week later in Vienna, the winner of the match between Sparta Prague (CZE) and Young Boys (SUI) will await in the quarter-finals.

This is the first edition of this European competition. Each round is played in a knockout format, with home and away matches. This also applies to the final, which will take place on 25/26 April and 2/3 May.

In the event of a quarter-final, RSCA will play the first leg away. For a potential semi-final and final, Sporting will host their opponents first at home.
