RSCA Futsal’s management has reached an agreement with Alvaro Martinez to coach the first team for the next two seasons. At 34 years old, the Spaniard already brings significant experience despite his young age. Most recently, he worked with Spanish top-tier club Valdepeñas.
The new coach earned a master’s degree in coaching in Barcelona and began his career with youth teams in Granada. His strong performances in his home country caught attention, allowing Martinez to launch a professional coaching career. He initially moved to Asia, working in China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, Martinez continued his career in Europe. He first coached in Italy, then took charge of the Croatian club Pula. This past season, he led Spanish side Valdepeñas, competing in the top division. When he arrived, the team was just above the relegation zone. In four months, he guided them to a safe mid-table position.
Lieven Baert, RSCA Futsal Manager:
“We’re delighted with the arrival of the Spaniard. With Alvaro Martinez, we bring in a young coach who fits perfectly with the philosophy and ambition of the club.”
Alvaro Martinez after signing with the Mauves:
“My first impression of the team is very positive. The vision and ambition that live within RSCA Futsal really appealed to me and match who I am as a coach. That made the decision an easy one. I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans and I hope to bring them joy with strong results.”
Martinez now signs a two-year contract with RSCA Futsal. Welcome, coach.
