Marco Kana (23) has extended his contract at RSC Anderlecht until 2028. The home-grown player made a remarkable comeback as a stronghold in our defense this season.
Marco's story at Sporting started with the U7s. He managed to develop as an intelligent, technically gifted player both in defense and in midfield. Kana was one of many Academy talents to make his debut with the first team at a young age. In August 2019, he made his debut alongside Vincent Kompany.
Over the past two seasons, Marco was held back by injuries. Yet the club continued to have a firm belief in him and Marco battled back with determination. This season, he emerged as a stronghold in defense. His contract extension until 2028 is not only a sign of confidence from the club, but also a reward for his perseverance.
Chief Technical Olivier Renard:
"This contract extension is a clear sign of mutual trust. Marco is an example for each of us, on and off the pitch, because he embodies the values of RSC Anderlecht and of Neerpede. So we are very pleased that Marco is committing his future to RSC Anderlecht."
Marco Kana:
"It's a huge honour to extend my contract at Belgium's biggest club. I have been playing for RSC Anderlecht since I was six years old. This will also be my sixth season as a professional. This contract extension shows that the club has confidence in me, and I have confidence in the club because I know I can continue to grow here both as a player and as a person. I will do everything to experience success here together with the club."
