On the eve of the return leg against Hammarby, Marco Kana and Vítor Bruno spoke to the media. After the draw in Sweden, the Mauves are determined to get the job done in front of a sold-out Lotto Park. "We know what we have to do: win."
"We have only one objective: to qualify", Marco Kana said. "What happened last season has to serve as motivation for us. Facing another Swedish team gives us the opportunity to show that it won't happen again this time. We want to be a dominant team, both in and out of possession. We know our qualities and we know we can hurt them. We showed in the first leg that we have enough quality to beat them."
Kana has now become one of the more experienced players in the squad. "It's a great feeling. A few years ago, I was in the same position as Kalonji, Ojea, Onia Seke and Nga Kana. I was a 17-year-old surrounded by experienced players, and now, if you can say so, I'm one of the senior members of the squad. On the pitch, you don't think about age because you're focused on the game. But when you reflect on it afterwards, it's something special. That's what RSCA is all about. There are always young players coming through, while the more experienced ones do everything they can to guide them. That's part of our DNA."
"Anything is possible because we can't consider ourselves favourites against a team with quality that already has plenty of competitive matches under its belt", said Vítor Bruno. "I don't expect them to change the way they play compared to the first leg. They stay true to their style and principles, whether they're playing at home or away. The biggest difference is that we'll be playing at home, in front of a sold-out stadium. That's why I'd like to make an appeal to our fans: I invite them to play with us tomorrow. They can lift us to another level. They can't imagine how important they can be for such a young team. I want Hammarby to experience the same level of difficulty that I felt when I came here with Porto."
