RSCA Futsal has made its final transfer of the season. Thirty-year-old Brazilian Jean do Carmo Paulo – Gaúcho for short – is joining the ranks. With the arrival of this strong pivot, coach Alvaro Martinez's core team is now complete.
Like many Brazilians, Gaúcho began his professional career in his home country. At the age of 25, he ventured abroad for the first time to play for Russian top club Torpedo Moscow. After one season, he returned to his homeland, but a new challenge soon awaited him in Iran. From there, he moved to Braga in Portugal. Gaúcho returned to Brazil once again, but a third move abroad followed. First to Saudi Arabia, then to Uruguay. With Penarol, Gaúcho won the Copa Libertadores last year and played a leading role in the tournament.
Gaúcho:
"At 30, I already have quite a bit of experience under my belt. Anderlecht was not an unknown club to me. There are quite a few compatriots playing there, so the integration will go smoothly. I know what is expected of me: to win the double and score as many goals as possible. In Europe too. I arrived in Belgium on Saturday evening. The match against Dublin came just a little too early. I want to spend the next few days getting fully up to speed. I'm looking forward to this new challenge."
