"Winning these difficult away games is the next step we need to take"

Coach Besnik Hasi gave his press conference before the game against Antwerp
PRESS CONFERENCE BESNIK HASI

On Sunday, Anderlecht makes the trip to the Bosuil. Head coach Besnik began his pre-match press conference against Antwerp with an injury update. Mario Stroeykens and Ilay Camara suffered injuries in the match against STVV and cannot participate in the Africa Cup with their national teams Congo and Senegal respectively.

"They will at least be out for a few weeks, but scans next week should give us more clarity on the exact term of their unavailability", coach Hasi said. "Furthermore, Marco Kana and Ludwig Augustinsson are still out, but they are on track. We hope to have them join the winter training camp in January. Huerta is still recovering from his surgery."

A tricky away game await Sporting on Sunday. What has changed at Antwerp, which won its last three league games against Club Brugge, KRC Genk and KAA Gent? "You can clearly see a renewed energy and mentality in their team. They also play more direct and realistic football. And they have recovered a few important players from injury, such as Gyrano Kerk and Vincent Janssen. On top of that, they have grown in confidence thanks to their recent results. We are warned: it will be a very tough game, that's for sure."

Bringing such tricky away games over the line, that’s the next step the coach wants to see from his squad. "It is true that we are doing very well at home (seven home wins in a row, in all competitions, with wins against all top six teams, ed.). With the support of the crowd, we start sharp every time and manage to secure the victories. On the road it has often proved more difficult, even though we won at Genk. We have already played good halves, but we need to be more consistent. That's the next step I want to see the group take. It will also be necessary, because we still face a lot of top-flight matches on the road before the start of the play-offs."

Starting with the game at the Bosuil on Sunday. Kick-off at 6.30pm.
