Draw against Genk

At KRC Genk, Brian Riemer granted two splers their first starting place at their new club. Ludwig Augustinsson and Thomas Delaney started in the starting line-up, while Moussa N'Diaye and Amadou Diawara started on the bench. Anders Dreyer also had his place in the starting line-up, the Dane returned from his suspension. Despite an early card and a lead until deep into the second half, RSCA had to settle for a draw.

GNKAND

The start of the match was lively and intense, but it produced few clear-cut chances. Only Christopher Bonsu Baah shot at goal, but harmlessly for Maxime Dupé. Although the Ghanaian did play a key role moments later when he was shown his second yellow card of the match after 15 minutes. Red therefore for Genk, although there were also a lot of yellow cards along the Mauves' side. Kasper Dolberg could have scored after half an hour from a Ludwig Augustinsson cross, but the Dane's header lacked the power to worry goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt. The home side hit back through Joseph Paintsil, whose shot hit the outside of the post. 0-0 at half-time.

GNKAND

Despite the numerical superiority, chances remained out for RSCA. Only an effort by Zeno Debast troubled Maarten Vandevoordt. After an hour of play, it was Bryan Heynen who forced Maxime Dupé into a fine save with a header from close range. Moments later, Francis Amuzu, who had only come on twenty minutes before time, fired a beautiful, unstoppable shot from outside the box. 0-1. Luis Vázquez, also coming on as a substitute, had two good chances, but he was unable to work a hard ball from Thomas Delaney in from close range. And despite the overtime, RSCA still had to swallow an equaliser deep into injury time. Tolu Arokodare equalised in injury time from a cross by Daniel Muñoz. Final score 1-1.
