RSCA Women sign Wies Dehaemers

Wies Dehaemers

Wies Dehaemers (16) is a Mauve. The versatile player joins from Racing Gent, where she has played in a boys’ team throughout her development. Wies has signed a contract with RSCA Women until 2029.

Sporting adds a creative left-footed player to their squad. Wies Dehaemers is an attacking profile who can operate in several midfield positions and can also be deployed as a winger. Despite her stature, she combines excellent technical ability with pace and an eye for goal.

One aspect of her story stands out: Wies has spent her entire footballing career playing in boys’ teams. She now takes the next step by moving from Racing Gent to a professional women’s side competing for trophies and on the European stage. She will immediately join the first-team environment at RSCA Women.

Dave Mattheus, Director of RSCA Women, is delighted with the club’s latest signing: “Wies is regarded as one of the most talented players of her generation in women’s football. Given her age and her background in boys’ football, we understand that the transition to senior women’s football will require time and adaptation. Our primary focus will therefore be on her continued development, while gradually integrating her into the first-team environment and providing opportunities step by step.”

Welcome, Wies.
