Vigdís Kristjánsdóttir joined the club during the winter transfer window of the 2024–2025 season from Breiðablik Kópavogur, the most successful club in Iceland. She is strong in possession, comfortable with both feet, and has a real eye for goal. The Icelandic international - who has earned two senior caps for her country - has already scored ten goals this season.
Dave Mattheus, Director RSCA Women:
“I’m very pleased that Vigdis is extending her stay with RSCA Women. She is a player who has already developed significantly and is already making a big impact on the team. I am convinced she will continue to grow and have an even greater impact on our squad.”
Vigdís Kristjánsdóttir:
“It’s now been just over a year since I arrived here, and it has been an amazing year. I’ve grown tremendously, both as a person and as a player. Coming here wasn’t easy, because for the first time in my life, I had to leave my family behind. When the season ended last year, I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t finish it properly due to various injuries. This season started well for both the team and me personally, as I was able to complete pre-season with the squad. And now I also have an Icelandic teammate here (editor’s note: Andrea Bjarnadóttir, also from Breiðablik), which made things even easier after the winter transfer window. It’s still been a bit up and down with injuries, but I feel that I keep making progress. I’ve signed a new contract, and I’m really looking forward to staying here and winning some trophies.”
