Sporting lose their place at the top, but keep their fate entirely in their own hands

Sporting travelled to the Stade Joseph Marien on Sunday for the seventh round of the play-offs. Kasper Schmeichel returned to the starting line-up, as did Anders Dreyer. Brian Riemer also introduced Majeed Ashimeru into the starting line-up. Starters against Cercle, Colin Coosemans, Théo Leoni and Luis Vázquez were joined on the bench by Yari Verschaeren, also back from injury. RSCA had to settle for a 0-0 draw. As a result, they lost their place at the top to Club Brugge, who are now two points clear, but Anderlecht still have their own fate in their own hands.
