Potential opponents for the next European qualifying round confirmed

Q3

The European campaign gets underway this Thursday for the Mauves. RSC Anderlecht take on Swedish side Hammarby IF in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The return leg will be played next Thursday at the Lotto Park. Regardless of the outcome against the Swedish club, Sporting will be back in action on 6 and 13 August, with a place in the Play-off Round at stake. If Anderlecht progress, they will face either Dynamo Kyiv or PAOK in the Europa League. If they are eliminated, they will switch to the UEFA Conference League and take on either Raków Częstochowa or Valletta FC.

Should the Mauves overcome Hammarby IF in the second qualifying round, they will meet Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) or PAOK (GRE) in the third qualifying round. Anderlecht will play the first leg away from home on 6 August, with the return leg at Lotto Park one week later.

If RSCA fail to get past the Swedish side, they will instead compete in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League against Raków Częstochowa (POL) or Valletta FC (MLT). In that scenario as well, the first leg will be played away from home on 6 August, with the return leg at Lotto Park on 13 August against the Polish or Maltese side.
