Three new, yet familiar, faces joined the first training session of RSCA Women. Fien Vanoverschelde (16), Eva Spelkens (17) and Rebecca Maravall (20) have earned promotion from the reserve team to the first team. The three players have signed contracts with the club until 2029. “Three players for the future,” said Dave Mattheus, Director of RSCA Women.

Fien Vanoverschelde is a left-footed full-back with an attacking mindset. Operating on the left flank, she provides plenty of offensive drive and support. “Fien has a good passing range, delivers quality crosses, and possesses an excellent physical profile,” Mattheus explained. After an impressive season with the reserves, during which she made a significant impact on the team’s play, she has been rewarded with a contract running until 2029.

Eva Spelkens will also be part of the RSCA Women squad next season. The right-footed forward is versatile and causes problems for defenders with her pace and agility. “Eva has a real killer instinct in and around the penalty area. She still has room to develop tactically, but with the right guidance she can truly flourish in the first team this season,” said Mattheus. Eva is a natural finisher with a knack for being in the right place at the right time.

Finally, 20-year-old Rebecca Maravall also makes the step up to the first team. The Spanish forward, who has Swedish roots, came through the RSCA youth academy before enjoying a brief spell at FC Rosengård. Last season, the two-footed attacker impressed with RSCA Women’s reserve side. “Rebecca is a creative forward with excellent technical ability,” says Mattheus. “She brings a profile that we don’t currently have in our squad. She’s very strong in one-on-one situations and excels in tight spaces. She earned this promotion through her performances, playing a key role for our reserves. With her goals and assists, she can add real value to the first team.”

Good luck, Fien, Eva and Rebecca.
