Just like last season, RSCA Women will compete in the Women’s Europa Cup. The Mauves will start their European campaign at home on Wednesday 26 August against Feyenoord. Ticketing information will follow at a later date.
Last season, RSCA Women reached the Round of 16 of the competition. The Mauves need to overcome two qualifying rounds to secure a place in the Round of 16 again. Feyenoord will be the first hurdle on that road.
RSCA will host the Rotterdam side on Wednesday 26 August, with the return leg scheduled one week later. The exact kick-off time and ticketing information will be announced at a later date.
What is this European competition?
From the 2025/26 season onwards, UEFA introduced a second European competition for women’s football. Alongside the Champions League, the Europa Cup has been organised since last season, marking another step in the continued development of women’s football.
The UEFA Women’s Europa Cup gives new clubs the chance to test themselves against European opponents, while teams eliminated from the Champions League also get a second chance to continue their European journey.
How does the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup work?
A total of 43 clubs will take part. Twelve teams qualify directly for Round 2:
→ The third-placed clubs from associations ranked 8-13
→ The runners-up from associations ranked 18-24
Additionally, a feeding system from the Women’s Champions League will see clubs eliminated in Round 2, as well as runners-up and third-placed teams from the Round 1 tournaments, move into the competition.
The Women’s Europa Cup is a straight knockout tournament, just like the Champions League, with six rounds in total: Round 1, Round 2, Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. All ties are played over two legs, home and away.
The winners automatically qualify for Round 2 of the Champions Path in the following season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League, with one more tie to play for a place in the league stage.
