Potential opponents drawn for European play-off round

Lotto Park

The draw for the play-off rounds of the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League took place in Nyon today. As a result, the possible opponents in the final qualifying round on the road to the League Phase are now known. If Sporting overcome PAOK, they will face Levski Sofia or Kairat Almaty. If eliminated, they will take on Brann or Apollon Limassol.

Europa League

If Sporting overcome PAOK in the third qualifying round, they will face the loser of the Champions League qualifier between Levski Sofia and Kairat Almaty in the Europa League play-off round. The first leg will be played away from home on Thursday 20 August. The return leg will take place at the Lotto Park one week later, on Thursday 27 August.

Conference League

If eliminated by PAOK, Sporting will continue their European campaign in the Conference League play-off round. They will then face either Norwegian side Brann or Apollon Limassol from Cyprus.

In that scenario, the Mauves will play the first leg at the Lotto Park on Thursday 20 August. The return leg will take place away from home one week later.

The date of the European home game therefore depends on the result against PAOK. If Sporting qualify for the Europa League play-off round, they will play at home on Thursday 27 August. If they continue in the Conference League, the home game will take place on Thursday 20 August.

More information about ticket sales for the European home game in the play-off round will be communicated at a later date. In the meantime, supporters can already buy tickets for the European home game against PAOK and for the first league game at the Lotto Park against RAAL La Louvière.
