The Pro League recently launched the search for two new members of its Hall of Fame. Among the six nominees is Robbie Rensenbrink, a true legend of RSC Anderlecht. One new member will be chosen by the fans, the other by a jury of football professionals. Our supporters can vote en masse for Robbie until May 5.
Robbie Rensenbrink is an absolute icon of our club. The “snake man” is the most graceful left winger Sporting has ever known and was one of the main architects of the club’s first major successes on the European stage. His unmatched technique, elegance, and incredible sense for goal mesmerized Purple and White fans — and football lovers around the world — for years.
We are extremely proud that such a player wore our colors from 1971 to 1980. Robbie won two league titles, four national cups, two European trophies, and two European Super Cups with RSC Anderlecht. He also wore the Dutch national team shirt 46 times, with the highlight being the (lost) World Cup final in Argentina in 1978.
