On Sunday, April 6, Sporting’s U13 team travelled to the Netherlands to take part in the International Spring Tournament. This prestigious competition, organised by FC Utrecht and Focus’07, brings together top European clubs every year. RSCA topped their group and narrowly lost the final to host FC Utrecht. However, Joshua Coveliers was named Player of the Tournament, giving RSCA an individual accolade to celebrate.
Last weekend, our U13s competed in an international tournament in Culemborg (Utrecht). The group stage began with top fixtures against Club Brugge (0-0) and AFC Ajax (0-1 defeat). The team then secured victories against Lille OSC (0-2) and Bayer Leverkusen (1-3). A convincing 0-5 win against co-organiser Focus’07 ensured RSCA finished top of their group.
Following this strong group stage performance, RSCA faced FC Utrecht—the tournament’s co-organiser—in the final. Despite a narrow 0-1 defeat, our U13s earned an impressive second-place finish and returned to Belgium with an individual honour. Team captain Joshua Coveliers was voted Player of the Tournament.
A great performance and an unforgettable experience for our U13 squad.
