RSCA Supports the ‘Safer Together’ Campaign

A united statement against all forms of violence in football

This past weekend, we drew a red line under violence on and around Belgian football pitches. On Sunday, before the match against KRC Genk, our U8s walked onto the pitch alongside the players, each with a red stripe painted on their cheek — a clear signal against all forms of violence in football. With this action, RSCA officially supported the ‘Safer Together’ campaign, an initiative by the Jupiler Pro League.

A Red Stripe as a Symbol

The ‘Safer Together’ campaign delivers a strong message against any kind of violence in football. Last season, Belgian amateur football (Voetbal Vlaanderen and ACFF) launched their first joint action. Thousands of players took to the pitch with a red stripe on their face to raise awareness about this issue. This season, the RBFA and the Pro League are reinforcing that message — with the backing of the Red Devils, Red Flames, and players from our professional leagues.

Between April 4 and 6, red stripes appeared on football fields across Belgium as a symbol of our collective commitment to a sporting environment free from violence. The Lotto Park was no exception. Our U8 players, who walked out with the first team ahead of the match against KRC Genk, wore red stripes on their cheeks. Together, we sent a powerful and unified message: violence has no place in football.
