Milan Debast (15) has signed his first professional contract in the capital. The left-footed central defender, who plays this season with the U16s of the Mauves, is now committed to the club until 2028. Milan is following in the footsteps of his older brother, Zeno.
Purple blood runs through the veins of the Debast family. Dad Raf played football, and mom Nelleke did too — she even served as a team delegate for the youth squads. Big brother Zeno rose through the RSCA youth ranks and became captain of the first team. Milan too is a true child of Neerpede: he took his first football steps there and has been with the club since the U6s.
Known for his excellent passing and positioning, Milan stands out as a central defender. He is a role model for many thanks to his intelligence and communication skills, both on and off the pitch. This season, he plays at the back for the U16s and has also been called up multiple times to the U16 Futures of the national team. With this first professional contract, the youngest Debast is rewarded for his hard work and performances.
Tim Borguet, Chief Academy:
‘Milan is a left-footed central defender with excellent passing, strong positioning, and great composure on the ball. A young player who took his first steps at Neerpede and now gets the chance to further develop himself here.”
Congratulations, Milan.
