Turkish central defender Yasin Özcan (19) is joining RSC Anderlecht on a one-season loan. The club also negotiated a purchase option.
Özcan is a central defender arriving from English Premier League side Aston Villa.
Yasin started playing football at İl Özel İdaresispor as a child and then moved through Karadolap Gençlikspor before joining the Kasımpaşa academy in 2018. He signed his first professional contract at the age of 16 in the summer of 2022 and made his first-team debut shortly after. He played a total of 94 games for Kasımpaşa's senior side. In 2023, he scored his first goal and became the youngest scorer that season in the Turkish Süper Lig.
This summer, Yasin moved to Aston Villa, who signed him from Kasımpaşa.
Özcan represented Turkey at youth level and made his debut for the senior national team in June this year in a friendly match against Mexico.
Sporting Director Olivier Renard:
“Yasin Özcan is a left-footed central defender who can also play as a left-back. He fits exactly the profile we were looking for. He already has solid experience in the Turkish Super League and will bring more competition to the defensive line.”
