Marie Degroote has suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury following an unfortunate movement during training. She underwent surgery earlier this week and now faces a long rehabilitation process - she is expected to be out for approximately nine months.

The 20-year-old attacker joined Anderlecht last summer from KAA Gent Ladies and immediately scored in a friendly against RAAL Women. Marie is under contract with the Mauves until 2026.

The entire club wishes Marie strength and a speedy recovery.
