The first matchday of the Lotto Super League play-offs is complete. The competition now pauses to make way for international football. No fewer than 14 RSCA Women players will join their national teams in April for friendly fixtures and qualification games. From the Red Flames to Romania - discover the full overview.
During the previous international break, Luna Vanzeir made her first start for the Red Flames. She has once again been selected for the Belgian national team, which is set to face Scotland twice.
Belgium will play these qualification matches on Tuesday 14 April (away) and Saturday 18 April (home), as part of the road to the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. The Red Flames remain unbeaten after two matches and currently share top spot in their group with Scotland.
Several RSCA Women players are also called up at youth international level. The U23 squad features five Mauves with Fran Meersman, Nia Elyn, Aude Waldbillig, Marie Minnaert and Karlijn Helsen. They will face top opposition in two matches of the Pinatar Cup: Germany on Sunday 12 April and Italy or Portugal on Thursday 16 April.
At U19 level, five RSCA players are also called up: Manon Baert, Marie Pues, Lise Bal, Eva Spelkens and Fien Vanoverschelde. They will play three qualification matches for this year’s Euro against Greece (12/04), Poland (15/04) and Romania (18/04).
Sporting girls across Europe
Rimantė Jonušaitė, named Player of the Year in Lithuania, has been selected for World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina (14/04) and Estonia (18/04).
Ștefania Vătafu will also represent Romania in their qualification campaign, facing Cyprus at home on Saturday 18 April.
Finally, Azzurra Gallo has been called up to Italy’s U23 squad. She will also take part in the Pinatar Cup, facing Portugal.
