Belgian back Ilay Camara (22) returns to RSC Anderlecht, signing a contract with the Mauves until 2030.
He began his football journey at SC Keerbergen, before moving to the youth academy of OH Leuven. In 2019, Camara joined the RSCA youth setup, playing 30 matches for RSCA Futures. In 2023, he transferred to RWDM, where he made 31 appearances. A loan move to Standard de Liège followed in 2024, and the club made his transfer permanent earlier this year. Ilay played 36 matches for Standard before now returning to Neerpede.
Camara also holds Senegalese nationality and made his debut for the Senegal national team in March during a World Cup qualifier against Togo.
Sporting Director Olivier Renard:
“Ilay Camara perfectly fits the profile we were looking for in a back. He brings speed and energy, knows the league well and, on top of that, already knows the club.”
