RSCA bolsters its defence with Giulian Biancone

Giulian Biancone

Giulian Biancone (26) is RSC Anderlecht’s first summer signing. The French central defender is joining us on a permanent transfer from Olympiakos and has signed a three-season contract, with an option for an additional season.

Giulian came through the ranks at AS Monaco, where he made his Champions League debut at the age of 18. After his first season with the Monegasques, he spent two seasons on loan at Cercle Brugge, where he made 46 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League.

In the summer of 2021, he moved to French side Troyes FC. Having made 33 starts in Ligue 1, he caught the eye of English club Nottingham Forest. After a season in the Premier League, Giulian moved to Greek side Olympiacos, where he has now played for three seasons and has a Greek league title, cup and Super Cup to his name. Last season, the defender also featured in the Champions League with Olympiacos.

In Giulian Biancone, the Purple & Whites have secured a central defender with experience in the French, English and Greek leagues, yet who is also familiar with the Jupiler Pro League. He stands out for his maturity, pace, ball control and athletic and physical qualities.

“I have known RSC Anderlecht since its glory days in the 2000 and 2010 eras and have always had fond memories of the games at Lotto Park. I am very aware of the club’s ambitions and the importance of RSC Anderlecht to so many supporters who cherish the purple and white colours. I am therefore honoured to be part of it from now on.”
