Thanks to their fourth-place finish in the 2024–2025 season, RSC Anderlecht enters the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. To reach the group stage of the Europa League, the Mauves must survive three rounds.
If Sporting survives the first two qualifying rounds, it will at least advance to the group stage of the UEFA Conference League. If the third match, the Play-off round, is also won, RSCA will advance to the League Phase of the Europa League. Two consecutive defeats would mean the end of the Mauves’ European campaign.
Draw on Wednesday, June 18
The draw for the second qualifying round will take place on Wednesday, June 18 (1 PM) in Nyon, Switzerland. RSC Anderlecht will be one of the seeded teams.
The first leg will be played on Thursday, July 24. The return leg follows a week later, on Thursday, July 31. After the draw, it will also be announced whether Sporting plays the first leg at Lotto Park or away.
Possible opponents
RSCA is in the pot of group 2 and can be drawn against one of the following clubs:
- FC Utrecht (NED)
- Beşiktaş (TUR)
- Hibernian (SCO)
Or against one of the winners from the first qualifying round:
- Spartak Trnava (SVK) / BK Häcken (SWE)
