On Easter Monday, the RSCA Women will head to Den Dreef in Leuven (kick-off at 3:00 PM) to take on their rivals from Standard Fémina. A duel between the second and third in the Lotto Super League, with the playoffs fast approaching. It will also be a battle between the two most successful clubs in Belgian women’s football, especially when it comes to cup finals.

Historically, Standard (20 titles) has won the most league championships—followed by Anderlecht with 11—but RSCA Women have dominated the past seven seasons. Seven consecutive titles (2018-2024) have allowed them to equal Standard’s record (2011-2017). With the playoffs ahead, the two teams will face each other three more times this season.

In the cup competition, RSCA Women have the strongest record, with eleven wins in nineteen finals. Standard Fémina has claimed nine trophies in fifteen finals. However, both clubs have only met twice before in a cup final, with an even split: Standard won in 1995 (3-1), while RSCA claimed victory in 2022 (3-0), their most recent cup triumph.

The road to the final

The path to the final was anything but easy for the Brussels side this year. After a 2-0 win against Gent Ladies in the Round of 16, they eliminated Club YLA in the quarter-finals and KRC Genk in the semi-finals. Both matches ended in 2-2 draws, forcing Sporting to secure their final spot through penalty shootouts.

The final promises to be just as intense. During the regular season, the teams remained evenly matched. The first encounter in October at Sclessin ended in a 2-2 draw, the return match in January finished 1-1, and their third meeting also ended in a stalemate (1-1).

More information about ticket sales for the cup final will be announced soon.
