In March, the RBFA, the Pro League, ACFF, and Voetbal Vlaanderen are stepping up the fight against discrimination and racism. During Come Together month, they are launching a campaign urging football stakeholders – from players and coaches to fans – to take action when confronted with unacceptable behavior on and off the pitch. They provide five clear tips on how bystanders can intervene.
With a video and posters – in collaboration with the Free University of Brussels and Plan International – they call on football fans and clubs to join the fight against racism and discrimination. The five A’s represent five powerful steps anyone can take when witnessing inappropriate behavior: distract, isolate, involve others, address, and stay present. Sometimes one step is enough, while other times multiple steps are needed.
