Anderlecht out in Europe

The Purple & White lost 2-0 on the pitch of Fenerbahçe on Thursday night 8 November. Because of this defeat, Anderlecht is now out in Europe, even with two matches left to go (at home against Spartak Trnava and away against Dinamo Zagreb).

Anderlecht and Fenerbahçe created a few (small) opportunities especially the first twenty minutes. For the Turks, Slimani created most of the danger, but he did not manage to score. Afterwards, the match slowed down, until Adrien Trebel almost scored close to half-time. His free kick hit the crossbar.

After half-time, Anderlecht controlled the game, but this did not result in any opportunities. No goals followed, until a centre by Mathieu Valbuena went in on the other side. Suddenly, Anderlecht fell behind. A few minutes after that, the game was over: the same Valbuena passed the 2-0 to Michael Frey and the latter did not doubt.
