RSC Anderlecht’s Cup campaign was over almost before it began. At home, Sporting did not show much against the neighbours of Union SG.
Right before half-time, the visitors took the lead via Niakaté, after Tabekou had already hit the post. Amuzu had a nice opportunity to score the equalizer in the second half, but goalie Saussez made the save.
Niakaté decided that this was going to be his night. First he outsmarted Boeckx to score the 0-2. He then turned it into a hattrick: 0-3. The end for Anderlecht in the Cup.
