Babatunde Akomolede (18) is a player of the Mauves. The young defender joins from Broad City FC, a football academy based in Lagos, Nigeria. Babatunde has signed a contract running until 2028.

Born on May 30, 2007 in Jos, a small city near Abuja, he joined Broad City FC at an early age. The Lagos-based academy develops young Nigerian talents. There he developed into a versatile, left-footed defender who can play both on the flank and in central defence.

Despite his young age, Babatunde wore the captain’s armband for Broad City FC on several occasions. But it was especially at the Gothia Cup in 2024, an international youth tournament in Gothenburg, that he truly stood out.

He stood out thanks to his strong work rate and his aggressiveness, but above all with his long throw-ins, which led to several goals for his team. The young defender left the tournament with the award for best player.

Bienvenue, Babatunde.
