Last weekend, KV Mechelen hosted the Malinwa International Cup, a prestigious tournament featuring U10, U11 and U12 teams from across Europe. The Mauves came out on top in both of the youngest age categories.

Ajax Amsterdam, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Porto, Manchester United, Lazio Roma: just some of the renowned teams taking part in the Malinwa International Cup hosted by KV Mechelen.

The U10s faced Gentofte (Denmark), Feyenoord (Netherlands), OGC Nice (France) and KAA Gent in the group stage. RSCA finished second in their group before eliminating Fiorentina (Italy) and hosts KV Mechelen. In the final, Sporting defeated PSG (France) 2-0.

Our U11s faced Club Brugge, Sporting CP (Portugal), AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands) and Sunderland (England) in the group stage. The Mauves picked up 12 points from 12 and progressed as group winners. The young Ketjes then defeated Antwerp and Fiorentina. RSCA also lifted the U11 trophy after beating KRC Genk by the narrowest of margins.
