Stewards

Volunteer contract, paid per performance

DESCRIPTION OF THE POST : 

The stewards are present in the stadium to welcome and assist the spectators, so that the safety competition runs smoothly. Their duties are quite diverse, including: checking entrance tickets, welcoming and guiding supporters, players and referees; ensure that supporters cannot enter the stadium with prohibited items, monitor compliance with the internal regulations, etc. Stewards play an essential observation role and only intervene preventively.

 

DESIGN PROFILE :

  • Have reached the age of 18;
  • In possession of a statement of good conduct;
  • Have not been subject to a stadium ban in the five years prior to the appointment (civil exclusion, administrative or judicial stadium ban, stadium ban under a protection measure);
  • Have the physical fitness to perform the function. This suitability is checked annually by means of a medical examination;
  • Have an adequate psychological profile. The following elements are assessed when checking the psychological profile: 

              - Psychological stability;
              - Ability to control emotions;
              - Sufficient rationality;
              - Observation ability;
              - Speed of action;
              - sense of responsibility.

 

HOW DO YOU BECOME STEWARD ?

The application is addressed to the secretariat of the club. The ‘candidate ’ is then invited for an interview (with the police commissioner, the safety officer and the flight attendant). If the ‘candidate ’ meets the correct profile, he follows an education:

 

This training includes :

  • 11 hours of theory
  • 7 hours of practice
  • 5 internship competitions

 

If the assessment is positive for each of the three strands of the training, the safety officer will propose the candidate steward to the local advisory board.
