Lander Gijsbers extends his stay with the Mauves

Gijsbers

Lander Gijsbers (20) has signed a new contract with the Mauves. The goalkeeper joined the club from OH Leuven last summer, where he had been playing since 2015. At the time, he signed a one-year deal. That contract has now been extended by one year, with an option for an additional season.

Lander took his first steps in football at HO Bierbeek. The tall goalkeeper spent nine years at Oud-Heverlee Leuven, where he occasionally featured for the club’s reserve team. Lander, who also earned three caps for Belgium’s U16 national team, made the move to the Mauves in July last year. At Sporting, the 20-year-old goalkeeper is part of the RSCA Futures squad.
