Shari Van Belle joins the purple-and-white ranks

SHARI VAN BELLE

Shari Van Belle (26) will bolster the midfield from next season. The versatile midfielder joins from German side SGS Essen. With Shari, who has made thirteen appearances for the Red Flames, the Mauves are adding experience to the squad. She has signed a two-year contract in the capital.

Shari, born on 22 December 1999 in Aalst, began her career with the boys’ teams at KSKL Ternat, FC Schepdaal and Eendracht Aalst. It was there that the Mauves spotted her at the age of 14. She then went on to play for the RSCA Women’s U15s.

Shari subsequently played for various clubs in Belgium, including KAA Gent, OH Leuven, KRC Genk and Standard Liège. In the summer of 2025, she made the move to the German league, joining SG Essen-Schönebeck. Now, the midfielder has opted to return to Belgium.

Dave Mattheus, Director of RSCA Women, is delighted with Shari’s arrival: “We are delighted to be able to bring Shari back to Belgium. She is an incredibly versatile midfielder, a two-footed player with good game awareness and excellent technique. What’s more, she has the qualities to dictate the pace of the game and turn matches in our favour at crucial moments.”

Shari will wear the number 26 for the Sportingirls next season.

Welcome back to RSCA, Shari.
