RSCA strengthen their squad with Léo Pétrot

Léo Pétrot

Léo Pétrot (29) has completed his move to RSC Anderlecht. The left-footed centre-back came through the ranks at French club AS Saint-Étienne and spent last season with Spanish top-flight side Elche CF. Léo has signed a contract with the Mauves until 2028.

A product of the AS Saint-Étienne academy, Léo made his official professional debut with FC Lorient. One year later, he returned to his boyhood club, signing a three-year contract with Saint-Étienne. He went on to make 99 appearances in the green and white shirt and was part of the squad that guided Les Verts back to Ligue 1 during the 2023-24 season.

In total, Léo has made 53 Ligue 1 appearances. Last summer, the Frenchman embarked on his first spell abroad by joining Elche CF, who had just been promoted to Spain’s top division. The 1.88-metre defender made 36 appearances for the club in La Liga and Copa del Rey. With Léo, RSC Anderlecht adds a left-footed defender with physical presence and experience to its defensive line-up.

Léo Pétrot: "For me, RSC Anderlecht is the biggest club in Belgium. It’s a club that shares the same ambitions and objectives as I do: competing for trophies and playing on the European stage. Joining RSCA was therefore the logical next step in my career. I hope to help the club by bringing defensive stability to the team and by using all the experience I’ve gained over the years.”
