"Two great games to take this team to the next level"

BRIAN RIEMER VILLAREAL

RSCA will face Spanish side Villarreal CF in the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa Conference League. The first leg will be played at home on Thursday 9th of March at the Lotto Park, to be followed by the game in Estadio de la Cerámica on the 16th of March. Coach Brian Riemer’s reaction on the draw:

“First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the fans for their wonderful support last night. It was one of these beautiful nights under the lights, where the whole stadium was rocking from start to finish. It was amazing to celebrate a victory like that with the fans. These European games are just so important to take us to the next level, both on mental and football aspects.”

“We all know that, when you end up in the round of 16 in a European competition, there are no easy games. There’s a reason why these teams have made it this far. Villarreal is a team that has done really well in Europe in recent years. At this point, they’re probably also a bit struggling in the league (Villarreal are currently sitting 9th in La Liga), but it’s simply a very good team. I think it’s going to be two great games for the fans, with two footballing teams up against each other. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to show how good we can be. It’s a difficult task, that’s for sure, but we’re up for it.”
