The Belgian women’s competition is taking a short break to make room for international football. Several RSCA Women players have been called up and have left Neerpede for international duty. Some are starting their qualification campaign for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, while others will only play friendly matches. Discover below which players of the Mauves have been selected and when they will be in action.
The Red Flames are aiming to get their World Cup qualification campaign off to a strong start this week. They were drawn into a group with Scotland, Israel and Luxembourg. For the Belgians - with Luna Vanzeir included in the squad - a double confrontation with Israel is scheduled. Both matches will be played in Hungary.
Rimantė Jonušaitė was named Player of the Year in Lithuania earlier this month. She will also try to guide her country towards the World Cup. Lithuania will first travel to Liechtenstein next week, and will then host Estonia. Bosnia and Herzegovina complete their qualification group.
Captain of the Mauves, Ștefania Vătafu, is also aiming to reach the 2027 World Cup in Brazil with Romania. To do so, the Romanian women will need to top their group featuring Cyprus and Moldova. Ștefania will host Moldova with Romania next Tuesday. Four days later, Romania will play away against Cyprus.
