Brussels victory in Waasland

On the 14th matchday of the Jupiler Pro League, RSC Anderlecht visited the Freethiel to take on Waasland-Beveren today, on Sunday 4 November. Hein Vanhaezebrouck was able to count on Adrien Trebel again, and he also brought Antonio Milic to the line-up, which consisted of a four-player defence.

The visitors controlled the match, which soon led to a good opportunity for Dimata, his header went long. Somewhat later on, the Purple & White were awarded a penalty after a foul on Landry Dimata. The striker took the penalty himself and scored. The Purple & White went looking for the 0-2 via Bakkali, but goalie Debaty prevented this. Albert Sambi Lokonga replaced the injured Sven Kums.

In the second half, Bakkali and Gerkens were close to the 0-2 in the same stage, but goalie Debaty was ready. The Waasland team increased the pressure after that, but real danger did not come out of it. Fifteen minutes before the final whistle, Antonio Milic was booked for a second time, so Anderlecht were reduced to 10 players. This did not, however, prevent the Purple & White from scoring the 0-2. Albert Sambi Lokonga captured the ball on his own half and sent away Dimata. After a long run, he passed the ball to Adrien Trebel, who scored. The home team were reduced to 10 after Caufriez was sent off the field. At the very end, the score became 1-2 after an own goal by Sanneh, this was also the final score. Sporting returns to Brussels with three deserved points.
