RSCA draws 0-0 against STVV

The Purple & White did not manage to keep the three points at home against STVV this afternoon, on the ninth matchday of the Jupiler Pro League. Coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck started with Zakaria Bakkali in the starting line-up, and Antonio Milic took his place in defence again.

Both teams had opportunities in the first half, but Sint-Truiden was dangerous first with a disallowed goal by Boli (offside) and a header which went long by the same player. After some twenty minutes of play, the visitors were reduced to ten players, after a red card for Ceballos. Somewhat later on, Sporting was close to the 1-0, but Steppe made the save on an attempt by Francis Amuzu.

In the second half, it took a long time for the Purple & White to threaten the visitors again. A real scoring opportunity was only created at the end of the second half, there were attempts by Bakkali and Makarenko. No goal followed from it, however. A header by Santini, at the very end, did not go in either. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.

RSCA: Didillon, Sanneh, Vranjes, Milic, Saelemaekers, Trebel (70’ Makarenko), Kums, Amuzu (82’ Saief), Bakkali, Gerkens (60’ Dimata) & Santini

STVV: Steppe, Tomiyasu, Garcia Tena, De Sart, Botaka (73’ Endo), Bezus (88’ Kamada), Boli (84’ Legear), Asamoah, Ceballos, De Norre & Teixeira
