4 in a row for Anderlecht!

Friday 17 August. RSC Anderlecht received Excel Moeskroen on the fourth matchday of the regular competition. The Purple & White finished the game with a nice 2-0 win, resulting in a convincing 12 out of 12 after four matchdays!

Coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck carried through a number of changed to the starting line-up. Milic returned after an injury, Musona and Amuzu also started the game. The first opportunity was one for the Purple & White, Saelemaekers reached Musona in front of the goal, but the latter was blocked by Van Durmen. A few minutes later, a centre by Amuzu was also stopped by the Moeskroen defence. Santini went looking for the opening goal with a nice free kick, but goalie Werner saved. Both Dimata and Vranjes were dangerous after that, but, again, stopped by Werner. The Purple & White kept on looking for the opening goal. Trebel decided to take a shot from his own half. His beautiful shot from a distance hit the crossbar. After that, a shot by Dimata went long. The Purple & White fans were already cheering their team on well, but after these opportunities, they went crazy. In minute 36, Dimata was fouled, after which the video ref awarded a free kick to RSCA. After a lot of opportunities, Trebel was able to beat goalie Werner, 1-0! The home team came up with a lot of nice combinations during the first half, and went into half-time with a 1-0 lead.

At the start of the second half, Pierrot had a good opportunity to score the equalizer, his header was saved by Didillon. After ten minutes, Musona tried his luck with a shot from a distance, but Werner made another save. In minute 63, the 2-0 finally appeared on the board! Dimata, combining with Milic, was able to score his fifth goal of the season. Somewhat later on, on the counter, Dimata reached Santini who almost increased the lead. Werner saved. Ten minutes before the end, referee Laforge sent Vranjes off the field after a heavy tackle. Kuzmanovic took his chance, but Didillon also came up with a great save. Substitute Morioka then reached Santini with a smart centre, but the Croation striker’s attempt went long. After four minutes of injury time, the Purple & White took their fourth win in a row: 2-0! The next matchday will bring the top match against Club Bruges at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
