After one weekend without football competition, the Purple and White had to visit Genk, whose team KRC Genk stays undefeated. The clash between the numbers 2 and 3 of the competition began slowly. After fifteen minutes Saelemaekers attempted the first goal of the match, but goalkeeper Vukovic didn't miss to stop it.
A few moments later, Alexis posed danger from the left flank, but the ball went just next to the goal. At the 24th minute it was the turn of Didillon to come into action. The frenchman didn't hesitated to stop the attempt of Samatta. After, the limburgers kept pressing for a goal through Heynen and Pozuelo, however, the score was still 0-0 at half time.
Immediately after the half time break Dewaest open the score for the home team. And even after bringing Bakkali, Saief and Musona, Anderlecht couldn't tie the score and got to its second defeat of the season.
