"Struggle for title not over on Sunday"

RSC Anderlecht will play a crucial away game against leader Club Brugge in the Jupiler Pro League on Sunday 17 December. The Purple & White have to try and reduce the rival’s lead, which will not be an easy task. During the press conference, coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck analysed what is at stake at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Sunday.

"Club Brugge is currently on a roll, and we are less so, that is the most important difference at the moment", Vanhaezebrouck opened. "They have had some luck since the start of the competition, while we have had some bad luck. Against Eupen, they were behind 2-0 when the video ref cancelled a penalty, whereas there was no video ref to conform Harbaoui’s goal, which was not offside, during our home match against Club Brugge. I am not saying that Club would not have been leading, but the difference would not have been 10 points. In any case, we have streak going for us, even with the 1-3 home defeat against Sporting Charleroi. We took 25 out of 30 points before that, we were the best team with that. Now we have taken 25 out of 33 points and Club Brugge 26 out of 33. I analysed the match against Charleroi and, until the red card, we were the better team, so I don’t think I should start panicking now, because we played badly for an hour. In any case, the struggle for the title will not be over on Sunday, thanks to the Play-Offs everything is still possible."
