Coach Felice Mazzù took his seat in the press room on Wednesday afternoon for a preview.
The coach first clarified the availability of some players. "Majeed Ashimeru is training with the group, albeit with a bandage around the knee. He is not quite there yet, but he is close to being selected." New recruit Moussa N'Diaye trained with the group for the first time today. "But I don't want to rush things, it's too soon to select him right now."
Coach Mazzù did talk about what the supporters can expect from Moussa. "He is an explosive player with a lot of dynamism and technique. He can certainly contribute something, especially in the duels, as we have already seen in training today. Moussa was trained at Barcelona, so he can certainly have an added value for this squad. Both in the centre of defence and at left back."
Coach Mazzù also spoke briefly about the defeat against Union. "Obviously I would have preferred a different result and a different performance. We simply did not bring the necessary ingredients to get a result. The players I substituted at half-time, they should not interpret that as a punishment. A player like Marco Kana also had a yellow card and some still had the long game against Young Boys in their legs.”
Up next is the game against KAA Gent then. Felice Mazzù will play his 300th game in the top division on Thursday. But one coach active in the Jupiler Pro League today has even more experience, and that is Gent-coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck. "Everyone knows Hein, with his charisma and his importance for our league. He is certainly one of the best trainers in Belgium and it will be up to us to find the solutions."
