Match report

RSCA-Club Brugge K.V. 2-0 (03-05-2008 20:00)

Match report

RSC Anderlecht won the top game against Club Bruges 2-0. Like this, Sporting is approaching the final second position and will have to confirm this against Mons, next weekend.

From the start, Anderlecht revealed their intentions and put the pressure forward. After some fifteen minutes of play, RSCA opened the score through Stanislav Vlcek. Frutos first headed in the direction of the post, but Vlcek had followed nicely and was able to score. After barely thirty minutes of play, Club Bruges were reduced to ten players, because Geraerts was shown the red card and, therefore, sent of the field, following a tackle on Boussoufa. Thereupon, Anderlecht just went on. Jelle Van Damme quickly turned the score into a 2-0 lead, when he headed a corner by Boussoufa past the keeper.

RSCA were given enough opportunities to enlarge the score during the second half, but Stijn Stijnen – who was keeping a solid match – prevented a greater lead. Match Statistics :
