On the pitch of Zulte Waregem, Sporting Anderlecht went down one-nil tonight. After fifteen minutes of play, Leye perfectly headed a free kick by Roelandts past Zitka. Consequently, Anderlecht was forced to pursue the opponent early on in the game. Jacobs’ team, however, could hardly create any scoring opportunities. Five minutes before the final whistle, the visitors had the ultimate chance to level the score, when Leye handled the ball in the penalty area and Sporting was awarded a penalty kick. Yet Ahmed Hassan hit the post and, as a result, RSCA had to return to Brussels without any points.
