The Purple & White know their opponent in the third qualifying round of the Champions League. The Lithuanian FK Ekranas were able to beat the Irish Shamrock Rovers in two matches. A week ago, both clubs played 0-0 in Dublin and today, Tuesday 24th July 2012, Ekranas won 2-1 on their own pitch.
Ekranas managed to score the opening goal via Andjelkoviæ and, after some sixty minutes, Kymantas doubled the lead for the Lithuanian club. McCabe scored the tying goal for Shamrock Rovers during injury time of the second half, but this goal came too late for the Irish.
The first match of the third qualifying round - RSCA-Ekranas - will take place at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on Wednesday 1st August 2012 at 8 p.m. The second leg will take place one week later, on Tuesday 7th or Wednesday 8th August 2012 in Litouwen.
