Oleksandr Iakovenko will play for Oud-Heverlee Leuven until the end of the current season. The 24-year-old Ukranian was lent to Westerlo the past two seasons and played at the Astridpark during the first half of the season 2011-2012. He was, however, not able to become a first-string player in the Purple & White squad and will now leave for OHL on loan.

This season, Iakovenko played seven times for the Purple & White. He came in four times during the JPL and once in the Europa League, against AEK. He was in the starting line-up for the two Belgian Cup matches, against Lommel and Rupel Boom. The Ukranian still has a contract at RSC Anderlecht until June 2013.
