Anderlecht coach Ariël Jacobs has selected 21 players for the game of the 23rd matchday against Beerschot AC. After Patou Kabangu, the second new player from TP Mazembe, Hugue Bedi Mbenza, is also part of the selection. There have been no selection problems for Sporting’s coach, for that matter. Except for the players with long-term injuries, everyone is fit.

The transfer period is almost over. On Thursday, Sacha Iakovenko was lent to OHL and that will be it for now. "A player has to decide whether he wants to be/stay part of a group. But for me there are no superfluous players, so nobody has to leave. The competition in the selection has to be a surplus, not a disadvantage. That competition has to keep the players sharp."

Anderlecht has to visit Beerschot AC on Saturday. "The club are having a difficult season, but it is a team that knows how to maintain a good position on the league table despite of all the troubles. And they have also taken a lot of points at home", Jacobs said. "It will be a difficult match, as everybody wants to beat Anderlecht and the leader who has nine points on the rest. That is like a red rag to a bull. We will have to be attentive."

RSC Anderlecht now have nine points on first pursuers Ghent and Club Brugge. Still, Roland Juhasz does not want to look ahead at the Play-Offs too much yet. "There are still eight important matches to go before the start of the PO", Juhasz said. "We had a tough period in December, but things are going well now. Let’s hope that we can keep going like this until the end of the competition. We have a good group, both on and next to the pitch, and we can make our level rise during a match if necessary", the Hungarian defender said. "We especially have to make sure that we are focused every match, also for the so-called little games, for we will need all of the points..."
